hold she?

This picture was taken last year on July 11th. James was asking Gramma Kris to hold Ruby who was almost 2 months old. I look back at the pictures of these two and it just amazes me. He has loved her right from the start. He would say, "Hold she?"

Do you remember when you were getting ready to leave, Kris? You were putting your shoes on by the front door and holding Ruby while you did it. James turned the corner and saw you. He ran right up and said, "Our sister stays here!"

I can't believe our baby is almost one. sniff.

Wilmington

Well, in spite of falling twice, the NC trip was fast, fun & busy! So many things to settle so far away! I've not experienced humidity since moving to CA, so the heat in NC was a reminder of WI climates in August. Not bad!

The houses, C & D's and D & mine, are being framed at present. The yards will be gorgeous! There are oak, maple & pine trees throughout the three property sites. C & D have a view of a lake ... so cool!

The pics of James & Ruby are adorable. If I get a decent pic of me & Don, I'll post it.

We'll be heading out soon to do the camping thing up in the mountains. 100+ degrees here is a bit much for May. Then a trip to WA and OR to meet up with family.

Yes, that is an excellent reminder for me on a daily (hourly) basis. :) How was golfing? You must be in NC today - lucky girl.

We are all doing pretty good around here. Patrick got home late on Friday so that was wonderful. We had a gorgeous weekend and tried to go to Devil's Lake, or did go to Devil's Lake, but the lake flies had just hatched and it was awful. We did stop at a really neat sculpture place on the way home. I put more pictures here.

Great dat in church today! Message was "I Give Up!" It was on realizing that I have limitations; I should accept my weakness and enjoy His power! When I'm weak, God's power shows up! So true.

I think I'm going golfing .. :o)

so, how was it?

Our day was kind of rough to begin with. Patrick is in Boston until Friday and James woke up at 6am. 2 whole hours early. Hooray! :) And, Ruby's top 2 front teeth are pushing through so she is a little crabby pants. But, the afternoon improved and we just had a good dinner. I am hoping to have them both asleep by 8, like last night. I need a break!

What are you all up to? I'll try to post some more pics tonight. I want to see some of you guys!
